PROJECT: Termas del Flaco
YEAR: 2006
Hydrotherapy Center at Termas del Flaco
At over 1,700 meters above sea level, in the Andes of Chile’s VI Region, Termas del Flaco is a natural sanctuary of sulfurous hot springs, nestled by the Tinguiririca River. This project envisions a hydrotherapy center that weaves together architecture and landscape through a sensitive and contextual design approach.
The pools are arranged according to water temperature and are complemented by interior and transitional spaces that frame views of the surrounding mountainscape. The proposal seeks a holistic experience of wellbeing, connecting body, water, and territory while honoring the unique character of this highland ecosystem.
